Why "The Hunger Block"?
WHY SUCH AS CRAZY NAME?? EVERYBODY ASKS
Many Latin American cities have a particular street/block where locals go to grab a quick bite for lunch, snack, dinner or after hours. We call it "La Calle El Hambre" which translates to "The Hunger Street/Block". Carlos Mendez and Rognny Diaz, both owners and originating from Caracas, Venezuela, have always wanted to bring to Omaha an authentic Latin American restaurant that showcases how diverse culture can be from one country to the other. The Hunger Block's menu is a great representation of our favorite dishes eaten during multiple trips around Central America and South America.
